abstract = "This chapter describes a Genetic Programming system,
Paragen, which transforms serial programs into
functionally identical parallel programs. Unlike most
other GP systems, it is possible to prove that the
programs generated by the system are functionally
identical. The ability to prove that the output of a GP
run is correct has greatly improved the chances of GP
being used in a commercial situation.",
