Karl Sims 'Genetic Images'. 16 monitors allowed
visitors of this interactive video installation (Ars
Electronica, Linz, and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris,
1993) to view a form of computer simulated evolution as
it was emerging. Then they could interact with tactile
sensors placed on the ground to manipulate the imagery,
to further make aesthetic choices in selecting images
for the evolution of the virtual creatures, i.e. if
these were allowed to further evolve in a next
generation. by Ingeborg Reichle",
