abstract = "To ensure the lunar lander landing safely, and execute
the expected scientific experiments smoothly, a new
terrain simulation method is proposed in this paper,
which can build a terrain model of Sinus Iridum with a
high resolution of better than 1 meter. The terrain
surface trend is fitted from a low-resolution terrain
with genetic programming (GP) and genetic algorithm
(GA). A high resolution terrain with a resolution up to
1 cm in a 10m by 10m region is built by applying the
distribution laws and the models of craters and rocks
in Sinus Iridum region. This method can be used to
analyse the landing safety of lunar lander and decide a
safe landing site by simulating precisely the real
terrain characters.",
